This week's show features an interview with Houston based singer Keeshea Pratt, from The Keeshea Pratt Band. In January, The Keeshea Pratt Band won first place in the Band Division at the 34th International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee. We will talk about competing at the IBC, her album "Believe," and her appearance Saturday August 11th at the Heritage Music BluesFest, in Wheeling West Virginia.
I will also be playing new music from Dave Holtzman (The Little Red Rooster Blues Band), Keith Stone, Brigitte Rios Purdy, JT Lauritsen, Johnny Burgin, and more.

This week's show features an interview with singer/writer/producer/guitarist Scott Sharrard. Scott is best know for his 10 year run as lead guitarist and musical director of the Gregg Allman Band, that ended with Gregg's death in 2017. We will be talking the Blues and about his latest album "Saving Grace." The album includes "Everything a Good Man Needs" featuring Taj Mahal on vocals. It is the last song written by Scott and Gregg.

This weeks' show highlights the music of Chess Records.
Chess Records was an American record company started by two brothers, Leonard and Phil Chess. They started the label in 1947 as Aristocrat. The label changed its name to Chess Records in 1950. Based in Chicago, it specialized in blues and rhythm and blues. Chess soon became known for recordings that became the best in Chicago Blues. The label played a large roll in amplifying the blues, recording some of its greatest talents and bringing the form into the modern era.
